Is LiveStacks.co free?

The Plants and Stacks features are completely free. Maps are a premium, paid feature — each Map is its own subscription.

How much does a Map cost, and is it per user?

A premium Map is $30/month per Map, not per user. You can add an unlimited number of collaborators to a Map for the same price, so large teams and projects don't cost extra.

What happens if I cancel a Map's subscription?

Your data is kept — the Map simply reverts to a free Map, and premium features like Team collaboration and sharing are paused until you reactivate it. You can manage every Map's subscription from your account.

Can I use a plant that isn't in the database?

Yes. Beyond the 6,000+ detailed plants, your search expands to cover hundreds of thousands more by name, which you can add to your Stacks and Favorites even without full details. See adding missing Plants.

Can I work on a Map with other people?

Yes — invite collaborators to view and edit a Map from the Team panel. Any LiveStacks.co account, free or premium, can be added to a Team.

Can I share my Maps or profile publicly?

You can make a Map public to share it with others, or keep it private. Your profile is private by default and can be made public at any time.

Can I add my own imagery or overlay to a Map?

Custom overlays let you add your own imagery or datasets (a site plan, drone imagery, a survey, existing GIS data) on top of a Map, and they're on our roadmap. If that's something you'd use, let us know from the Overlays page so we can prioritize this work.

I'm an artist. Can I turn a hand-drawn map into an interactive one?

We'd love that. Permaculture is a design-heavy, deeply artistic craft, and we'd rather augment talented mapmakers than replace them, combining a beautiful hand-drawn map with all the benefits of a digitized, interactive GIS map. We're exploring this and handling requests by hand for now, so if you have artwork you'd like digitized (or you'd like to commission a map), reach out from the Overlays page or our contact page.
